TechTalk began in 2010 by a group of sponsors - Institute of Engineer Malaysia (eETD-IEM), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM, Usains), and DreamCatcher - to serve the Electronic Engineering community in Penang, Malaysia. It aims to be a platform for professional networking and expert knowledge exchanges amongst local industries and international experts.

 

In 2012, this initiative was also extended to serve undergraduates in Malaysia. By providing speakers of international standing, TechTalk was able to expose undergraduates and academia to the latest technologies, promoting professional linkages with the industry.

In 2012 & 2013 respectively, TechTalk welcomed CREST and Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) as additional sponsors.

 

Today, TechTalk serves not only the Electrical & Electronics industry, but also the Life Sciences and Oil & Gas industries. It has also expended its geographical reach, providing professional talks to engineers and scientists in the central-peninsular region of Malaysia.
